APEX - FL-5 Wheel Set

The FL-5 is the only APEX design that takes advantage of Dual Flow Forming plus their newest “I” beam machining technique. Still a one-piece wheel, the Dual Flow Forming technology strengthens both inner and outer barrels while maximizing front lip depth for each unique width and offset. Overall strength has been increased over previous designs which ensure durability in both street and track environments. The advanced "I" beam spoke milling further reduces weight and adds a visual feature typically only found on the most expensive race wheels available on the market today.
 

"I" Beam Spokes
This is the most significant new feature they've added. Weight is reduced by CNC machining material out from the sides of each spoke. It's expensive and avoided by almost every manufacturer, but they've made it affordable through volume production.

 

 

Beefier Lips
By saving weight elsewhere, APEX added extra material where it counts. They beefed up the barrel’s inner lip to better handle the abuse from the street and track.

 

 

Dual Flow-Formed
The FL-5 is their only design with a front lip, and it’s also their only wheel that features the use of rotary forging for both the front and rear barrels. APEX did this because they needed to produce the strongest front lip possible, and they can optimize the depth of the front lip for every unique width and offset when they use this more advanced production method.

 

 

Factory Support
Like any APEX wheels, The FL-5 supports all OEM hardware like OEM Roundel center caps, wheel lugs, valve stems, and TPMS sensors. No centering rings are needed either.

 

 

Variable Lips
The FL-5 uses the same spoke shape and curvature for all sizes. To be as light as possible, each fitment is optimized by machining a front lip that varies from shallow to deep depending on the width and offset of the wheel produced.

 

 

FEA Optimization
We took more time than ever before on this step, revising and iterating our design to reduce weight as much as possible. After countless iterations we removed material from the sides of the spokes in a way that allowed us to increase strength over our previous designs.

Due to the massive variety of sizes, fitments and manufactures as well as continually fluctuating tire prices, all wheel & tire package purchases must be made by calling our sales team at 1-866-669-0705 or by email at sales@europeanautosource.com. A member of our helpful staff will gladly assist you in selecting the optimum tires for your wheels. We mount and balance our tires using a Hunter GSP9700 Roadforce Balancer. We ship the mounted/balanced wheel & tire package directly to your door!

Shipping:
Wheel sets are shipped for a flat rate fee of $100 in the continental USA. Wheel sets with tires mounted are shipped for $150 in the continental USA. Hawaii, Alaska, APO and international wheel orders must be placed over the phone or email so that we can calculate an accurate shipping price. The website will not process any wheel orders shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, APO or international destinations.
